Test Evaluation Contract (TEC) for NASA WSTF, NM
Jacobs

For NASA’s Test and Evaluation Contract (TEC) at White Sands Test Facility (WSTF), near Las Cruces , NM , Jacob provides the expertise and supports the infrastructure to test and evaluate spacecraft materials, components, and rocket propulsion systems to enable the safe human exploration and utilization of space. WSTF is a preeminent resource for testing and evaluating potentially hazardous materials, space flight components, and rocket propulsion systems. Jacobs’ workforce of approximately 350 provides services that include rocket propulsion testing, materials and components testing, depot level repair of flight hardware, and maintenance and repair of test systems required for these activities. Our primary areas of support include test engineering; system and facility upgrades; and depot engineering. We provide test engineering support to rocket engine and propulsion systems, which consist of altitude and ambient testing of liquid rocket engines, solid rocket motors, and integrated propulsion systems. Examples of systems that we have supported include the Shuttle Fleet Leader Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS), Aft Reaction Control Systems (ARCS), Forward Reaction Control Systems (FRCS), AF Minuteman fourth stage, Next Generation propulsion system using alcohol and oxygen propellants, and Periodic Shuttle APU. We provide test engineering support to flight and ground support equipment components for functionality and fluid compatibility. Engineering services include system development, test method development, special process development, and material selection. We also support the development and implementation of standard or consensus test methodology new to WSTF, including the design of special test methods to meet customer requirements.
