Jacobs provides research and facility operations, maintenance, engineering, and information technology (IT) services for NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). In support of the world-class aerospace research conducted at LaRC, Jacobs provides test planning, preparation, execution, and data analysis and reporting support to a wide variety of test programs for multiple customers. Support is performed under an ISO 9001:2000 certification and includes engineering support of test and evaluation and test facilities; operation and maintenance of test facilities; integration of test items; supply and warehousing support; and test support from test planning through reporting, safety, security, environmental spill response, and information technology. We also provide management of a diverse 350-plus person workforce in a dynamic task order environment; recruiting and retention of personnel with specialized skills; management of a workforce that is partially union; performance in hazardous environments; and high customer expectations for cost and schedule management and high quality technical performance. Under ROME, operates all LaRC aeronautical test facilities, performing all maintenance on the Center; performing engineering design/build including procuring and managing construction for research and test; and operating and maintaining the utilities, including power distribution, steam, and high pressure air. We maintain engineering drawing files, and we perform configuration management for the major test facilities. We are also responsible for all associated IT and data management. Jacobs supports NASA initiatives in aviation safety, quiet aircraft technology, small aircraft transportation, and aerospace vehicles system technology. We also support NASA space programs with atmospheric research and technology testing and development. We perform about $20M of engineering design and build work on the ROME contract annually. |
