Through our LO&SC from 1998 – 2005, Jacobs operated and maintained more than 350 critical facilities including large launch pads. We used a systems management approach to maintain more than 3,300 primary subsystems within these facilities. To deal with an aging infrastructure in a corrosive environment and delicate flight hardware support equipment, our maintenance approach focused on proactive techniques such as Condition-Based Maintenance and Reliability-Centered Maintenance. Through standardizing procedures/processes, we reduced procedures used for facility O&M by more than 50%. We developed and implemented a web-based Spaceport Intranet Information System (SIIS) to share critical launch and related facility information with all of CCAFS. Using standardized internet browsers, authorized CCAFS employees and other users could view work schedules and plans, part and material inventories, incidents, corrective actions, work orders from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), facility drawings and other configuration management data, work procedures, and Jacobs’ quality management system data, as well as facility status. We also provided complete logistics service for LO&SC. This effort involved planning, purchasing, receiving, storing, kit, and delivering parts and material for all O&M activities on LO&SC, including critical spares and support of modifications and upgrades on our systems and equipment. Our logistics support also involved the inventory maintenance of systems parts and supplies, shipping and receiving, maintaining a repeatable maintenance recall system, calibration services, and electromagnetic measurement and analysis. In addition, we provided ordnance and storage/handling activities for torpedoes and other munitions for our Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU) customer. This included transporting ordnance to the Navy’s King’s Bay facility, as well as loading and unloading onto submarines. We also stored ordnance for the NOTU in ordnance bunkers at the CCAFS. Jacobs supported the 45th Space Wing’s vision of being the premier gateway to |
