U.S. Navy Contracts

Jacobs’ half-century-plus support to the Department of Defense (DOD) includes the U.S. Navy. Most prominently, we have continuously supported the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) since 1995. Our partnership of providing engineering and test and evaluation support to Naval and joint service programs at Naval and Air Force Bases and laboratories nationwide includes weapons systems development, meteorological and oceanographic programs, and airborne threat systems. Programs and systems experience includes Joint Strike Fighter airframe and engine research development and testing; F/A 18 system test and weapon integration; Evolved SeaSparrow engineering analysis; analysis of surface and submarine variants of the Tomahawk Cruise Missile; and tests for the Navy Standard Missile propulsion and sensor system, JASSM and JDAM missiles, and torpedo shock tests.

Jacobs provides engineering support services for airborne threat system development for the NAWCWD at multiple on-site and off-site locations with the focal point of operations at Point Mugu, CA. Jacobs’ personnel are a professionally trained and cohesive group of highly experienced electronic and mechanical engineers, electronic technicians and draftsmen, configuration and data management analysts, inventory/material coordinators, and procurement specialists who have worked closely together to support the ATSO and the NAWCWD. With a sharp focus on design engineering for advanced and emerging threat simulation technologies, our support provides significant contributions in systems engineering, test and evaluation, technical data support, configuration management, integrated logistics, technical data management, and management support services. – hide

Computer Maintenance/Support Services (CMSS) and Ocean Dynamics and Prediction for the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL)Since 1992, Jacobs has provided support to three primary technical areas – scientific, computer system and network administration, and scientific programming – for the U.S. Navy at Stennis Space Center, near Bay St. Louis, MS. The scientific support component of this contract centers on various aspects of the meteorological and oceanographic fields. Computer system administration handles the operations of every computer platform and operating system in the marketplace today. Jacobs provides engineering support services for weapon system development for the NAWCWD at multiple on-site and off-site locations with the focal point of operations at China Lake and Pt. Mugu, CA and Patuxent River, MD. Overall areas of support include systems engineering, test and evaluation, technical data support, configuration management, integrated logistics support, technical data management support, transition engineering, and management support services. We also provide comprehensive support for the design, acquisition, test, and sustainment of principle DOD weapon systems, including support for all phases of the acquisition cycle ranging from research and technology programs to deployment and sustainment engineering. A few of the many programs we support include NAVSEA, NAVAIR, and joint Navy/Air Force programs such as AMRAAM, Tomahawk, HARPOON, Evolved SeaSparrow Missile, and AIM-9X. – hide

Jacobs provides systems and software engineering support to the Amphibious & Expeditionary Warfare Branch of the U.S. Navy’s Coastal Systems Station located in Panama City, FL. Working under various contracts for Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Engineering, Logistics, Operations and Maintenance Support Services, Jacobs provides primary support for the development, acquisition, and lifecycle sustainment of all LCAC Command, Control, Communication, Computers, and Navigation (C4N) systems as well as off-craft mission support systems and tactical decision aids. Jacobs’ services include systems analysis, independent verification and validation (IV&V), project management, on-site monitoring, C++ Windows-based software development, requirements analysis, system design, software implementation, Computer Software Configuration Item/Hardware Configuration Item (CSCI/HWCI) integration and testing, and development of software and system logistics support products.

Jacobs’ support on this contract – the largest and one of the most complex support contracts at NAWCWD – includes scientific and technical services for the NAWCWD’s Information Technology (IT)/Information Management Department and various other NAWCWD organizations at China Lake and Point Mugu, CA. Directly aligned with the NAWCWD’s mission, our comprehensive support includes the services and materials necessary to support the analysis, design, development, test, integration, deployment, and operations of IT systems and services to sustain the research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) and business administrative functions of the NAWCWD. Our specific services include performing RDT&E, logistics, and in-service support for guided missiles, free-fall weapons, targets, support equipment, crew systems, and electronic warfare; integration of weapons and avionics on tactical aircraft; operation of the Navy’s western land and sea range test and evaluation complex; and development and application of new technology to ensure battlespace dominance.
