Communication and Network Systems Administration

Example: Network Operations and Maintenance for the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), multiple U.S. locations

We support IT operations and maintenance at numerous USSOCOM locations including the headquarters at MacDill Air Force Base, FL, USASOC in Fort Bragg, NC, AFSOC in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and NSWC in Coronado, CA, and Little Creek, VA, through a systems engineering and technical assistance (SETA) contract. We provide all component (14 different CONUS locations) LAN/Automated Information Systems (AIS) operations and maintenance support, including Windows NT, UNIX, Solaris, and other operating systems, developing seven different C4ISR structures.

Results and Benefits – As a result of our approach, the customer now has quicker access to the needed level of support through our multi-tiered Help Desk. We have improved systems engineering, resulting in fewer bottleneck issues and more robust network designs – assuring networks are available and operating at peak efficiency to meet customer requirements. We have provided more reliable network access for current and future system users resulting from the use of metrics to proactively monitor and fix network problems. We have established a stable infrastructure for reliable, external connectivity to other data and communications systems. We have also provided a stable platform for technology insertion, allowing the customer to quickly take advantage of emerging technology. Lastly, our approach has created a technical and procedural framework for network sustainment, cost-effective system maintenance, and planned logical growth.
