76. Communications Technician

Function of Position – Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed involving a sequence of related operations.

Duties and Responsibilities – Provides technical assistance to engineering personnel involving data analysis and identifying data discrepancies. Processes the data utilizing basic knowledge of calculus, algebra, or trigonometry. Performs nonroutine complex computations. Prepares more comprehensive reports, schedules, and procedures for well-defined projects. Assists engineers in preparing presentations by utilizing computer terminals to formulate graphic files, to chart, collect, and plot data. Works in close contact with engineers to clarify requirements of schematic flow charts and organize and clarify rough notes and diagrams.

77. Logistician IV

Function of Position – Responsible for a key administrative function within Jacobs Technology Inc., with management accountability for the recommendations and implementation of significant programs. Serves as technical expert in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities – Directs, manages, and administers business area of expertise. Directs special projects, prepares reports analyzing situations, and make recommendations. Constantly evaluates policies and procedures, making recommendations, as appropriate. As technical specialist in field, continually assesses programs and provides advice and recommendations to higher levels of management.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements – Experience: 10 years of experience required. (a.) 5 years of general acquisition experience must include working knowledge of User's requirements and processes; logistics operations, requirements and processes; and familiarity with other MAJCOM processes. Logistician must be familiar with logistics policies and procedures covered in DoDD 5000.1 and DoDD 5000.2. (b.) 5 years of specialized experience must include supervisory or senior management level experience in the management of complex acquisition logistics efforts: specialized or technical expertise in developing and reviewing documents (i.e. solicitation document, ILSPs, Computer Resources Life Cycle Management Plan (CRLCMP)). Specialized experience must also include experience in source selection processes, developing documentation for RFPs, to include taskings such as Logistics Support Analysis, and overall logistics planning. Education: Bachelor's degree and Master's degree or, an additional 5 years of specialized acquisition experience may be substituted for the Master's degree.

Responsible for a portion of a business activity; conducts routine work independently and generally handles nonroutine portions of activity. Conducts interviews and analyzes data regarding complex issues and business systems; prepares detailed management report on the subject. Determines effectiveness of complex business systems and recommends improvements. Prepares and conducts briefings or presentations, as required, in areas of specialty. Advises management on business activities in areas of expertise, services as department representative. Works on special assignments, coordinates actions to correct problems, and documents subsequent revisions to procedures.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements – Experience: 5 years experience required. a. 3 years general experience to include acquisition knowledge and experience in the development of support documentation to include as a minimum, elements such as support equipment, technical orders, supply support and computer resources support, process of evolving and establishing maintenance/support concepts, and general understanding of relationship with the Users and other logistics related organizations. Logistician must be familiar with logistics policies and procedures covered in DoDD 5000.1 and DoDD 5000-2. b. Two (2) years specialized experience in Acquisition Logistics to include acquisition experience in the procurement and management processes of Support Equipment, Technical Orders, Spares, and Computer Resources, as well as an understanding and knowledge of the logistics associated R and M functions. Education: Bachelor's degree or, an additional three (3) years general and two (2) years of specialized acquisition experience may be substituted for the degree.
