CMMI – Engineering Process Group (EPG) Planning and Operations

Client − Organization’s Engineering Process Group (EPG) for up to 10 students

Purpose − Provide knowledge and understanding for development of the improvement Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), estimating improvement activities, identifying appropriate improvement milestones and developing the overall schedule, identifying and assessing risks, developing adequate measure for progress and institutionalization, and developing adequate program oversight mechanisms. Alternative CMMI® compliant Lean/agile approaches to process improvement are presented.

Client Preparation − Have knowledge of organizational maturity, basic goals, schedule, resources, and strategy for performance or process improvement. Working knowledge of CMMI is required.

Expected Outcomes − Understanding of EPG planning approaches, formats, and mechanisms. Provide capability to develop detailed improvement plan in response to business needs, that reflect understood risks, is competently estimated, and that contain adequate measures and oversight mechanisms.

Additional Workshop Outcome − Draft performance/process improvement plan.
